# The Fourteen-Question Buyer: Answer Once, Then Fix The Listing
Every seller knows this buyer. They ask for the measurements. Then the exact shade of blue. Then whether it smells like smoke, whether the box is original, whether you can do a little better on shipping. You answer everything. Then: "I'll pass."
It is tempting to treat the fourteen-question buyer as a waste of an evening. A better way to see them is as a free audit of your listing. Every question they asked is a detail the listing did not answer, and the next buyer has the same questions and simply does not ask.
Answer Fully, Once
When the questions come, answer them all in one reply rather than one at a time. A single clear message with measurements, materials, included items and condition reads as confident and saves you the back-and-forth. Keep the tone plain and friendly. The buyer is not an enemy; they are nervous about money.
If a question needs a photo, take the photo and send it. Then save that photo, because it belongs in the listing.
Put Every Answer Into The Listing
Before you move on, add each answer to the listing where it should have been. Measurements go in the item specifics. Smoke-free or pet-free goes in the condition note. The shipping question usually means the price looked high relative to shipping, so review the total a buyer sees.
In FlipPress, drafts come back from your photos with the title, category, item specifics and condition already filled in, which covers the basics. The questions a buyer still asks after that are the specifics only you know, and those are the ones to type in once so you never type them again.
Spot The Patterns
Keep a short list of the questions you receive across a month. The same three usually repeat: dimensions, what is included, and condition details for a specific category. Build those into your listing template so every new listing answers them before a buyer has to ask. The fourteen-question buyer stops appearing when the listing already did the talking.
Set A Reply Rhythm You Can Keep
Fast, complete replies are part of the product you sell. Pick two or three times a day when you answer messages and stick to them. A buyer who gets a full answer within a few hours will often buy; a buyer who gets a one-word answer in two minutes often does not.
For questions you cannot answer honestly, say so. "I have not tested that port" is better than a guess that turns into a return.
Let The Pass Be A Pass
Some buyers will still pass. That is fine. A buyer who leaves after seeing an honest answer was never going to be a happy buyer at that price. The listing is better for the conversation, the next buyer gets a fuller page, and you spent the evening improving an asset instead of losing an argument.
A Short Template That Prevents Most Questions
Measurements or dimensions. What is included, item by item. Condition, with every flaw named. Whether it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. How it is packed and when it ships. Five lines, written once, pasted into every listing in the category. It will not stop every question. It will stop fourteen.
